Investment Fund Classifications

This dataset contains information on portfolio index status and classifications for mutual and exchange traded funds since 2010. The classification method is described in Rawson and Rowe (2022) The Power of Not Trading: Evidence from index fund ownership.

Please note that only funds that ever had at least $100 million in publicly traded assets are classified and that fund classifications may change over time.

The dataset is freely available for non-commercial use. We request that you reference our paper when using the dataset and let us know of any errors that you discover.
